Your Superstition Wilderness Adventure Guides

Robert Cooper

A Little about Robert

I will always love the outdoors and her many activities. These past 13 years I’ve served as Commander of Superstition Search and Rescue and have learned my way around in the Sups. Every year my interests grow as I explore the trails and enjoy It’s beauty. In my ventures I will continue to learn It’s history, it’s mysteries and wonderful legends.

I was born and raised here in the Sonoran desert. Served in the military, married, started a business and today live in the foothills of the Superstition Mountains. I love my wife, have strong healthy children and many animals. I live well, work hard, pray daily and play often. I’m rich with friends and am very active in our community.

Background includes State SAR Incident Commander, Wilderness First Responder, Technical Rescue, Helicopter Rescue, N.A.S.A.R Instructor, Public Safety Rescue Diver, CERT Community Emergency Response Team, GPS and Orienteering.

I was born and raised in the bustling metropolis of Globe, Arizona. Because of the proximity of the Superstition Wilderness, some of my oldest and fondest memories have taken place there.

Hiking, hunting, adventuring, running.  I have been wandering the Sups for 42 years. I have personally hiked or ran on 100% of the numbered trails within the wilderness, and bushwhacked through much of the backcountry.

For the last 4 years I have been a member of the Superstition Search and Rescue team assisting in locating and helping people in need. I am the team hike co-coordinator, a NASAR certified Sartech 2, and WFA trained in wilderness first aid.

I live to share my love and knowledge of the Sups with friend and family alike.
