Lost Dutchman


The eye of the needle.

Hike the ¼ day trail and see the center of the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine legend.  This is a mildly difficult hike with over a 1000 foot elevation gain.  The payoff is beautiful vistas and the classic view of Weavers Needle. 

On a ½ day hike, you get a taste of the inner basin of the Superstitions.  Places like Needle Canyon, Boulder Canyon, and perhaps the infamous three pines of the Adolph Ruth map can be seen.  Learn about the “Dutch wars” and the obsessions of some of the historical figures of the past.

For the real adventurer we offer the Weavers Loop.  This is a strenuous hike that circumnavigates the “Needle”.  This is a real taste of what the Sups are like.  You will definitely get your Dutchman fix with this one.  A camera is a must.  14 miles of history, legend and lore.
